Perfect for my needs
I have a Tom Bihn Brain Bag backpack. https://www.tombihn.com/collections/backpacks/products/brain-bag I wanted a way to store some gear (GoPro and Canon GX7x, wall chargers and cables, etc). vertically while also trying not to add too much weight. I use two generic molle pouches (8x4) and a Peak Design tech pouch. https://www.peakdesign.com/products/tech-pouch/ The Grey Man Tactical Rigid Insert 10.75x15 fits perfectly in the rear laptop portion of the bag. I think 11x17 would probably be a little more ideal and snugger fit. But, this panel is perfect for my geeky EDC and travel needs.
Exactly what I've been looking for
I love it. It's exactly what I have been looking for. I use the panel with the Safariland QLS and the G-Code Scorpion mag pouches to mount my firearm, IFAK, and tourniquet in my SOG Prophet 33 bag. The bag has velcro molle so I attached velcro to the panel and the carry handle to easily pull the panel out when needed, yet it stays solidly in place when the firearm and mags are drawn, even with a full 4 litre dromedary bag in the pouch behind it. I will be doing a setup for my Pelican gun case next.
Just what I've been looking for
Ordering was easy and delivery was very quick. I have used the 10.75" x 15" in a SOG Prophet 33 bag with the mounts for the Safariland QLS and G-Code Scorpion mag pouches. This is exactly what I have been looking for and I couldn't be happier. I will be getting panels for my Pelican case next and later for my vehicle.
Does the needful
Item arrived quickly, however it was damaged in transit or had tooling marks on it. Regardless, still functional. Price is high given the product's simplicity, however no alternatives exist AFAIK. May purchase another, only if discounted.
We have a "make it right" policy with our customers. All you need to do is contact us to exchange your panel for one that is not damaged! firstname.lastname@example.org.
Excellent with my Goruck GR-1
I wanted a slightly smaller panel than the specific one for my Goruck GR-1 so that I could preserve the top rows of molle webbing above the elastic pocket. This size was perfect, as I was able to attach with Condor 4" MOD straps (purchased from amazon) and still have space if I wanted for whatever to attach to the built in backpack webbing above (like Goruck's field pocket). The goal was to create a system that stayed in place easier since the GR-1 is a big cavity with only the molle up top. Stuff would bunch up at the bottom, so using the panel gives some structure and keeps the pack slimmer. I can flip up the Greyman panel as well to access the flap pocket behind.
